Grundfos India talks about Innovative Ways of Managing Water Resources at the CII Water Innovation Summit 2016
New Delhi, September 26, 2016: Grundfos India, one of the prominent pump manufacturers in the country is the silver sponsor of the 2nd Water Innovation Summit 2016 organised by CII. Water as the key resource for Economic Growth & Human Development is the theme of the two-day summit scheduled for September 26th and 27th in New Delhi. Ranganath N K, Co-Chairman, CII National Committee on Water and Managing Director, Grundfos India will address the summit.
Water is one of the biggest challenge faced by the 21st century due to the over exploitation of resources, economic development and growing population. The World Bank estimates that by 2030 India’s per capita water availability may shrink to half from the 2010 level of 1,588 cubic metres per year, which will push the country from the water scarce category to the water stress category.
Modern water and wastewater management demands an intelligent, proactive approach. Grundfos is committed to contribute towards a sustainable world through its strong tradition of developing water and energy-efficient solutions, such as solar-driven pumps and efficient water treatment systems. Grundfos iSOLUTIONS goes beyond the pumps alone to deliver intelligent controls and communication capabilities that help the system adapt automatically to dynamic conditions. The Demand Driven Distribution system from Grundfos is yet another appropriate example of smart water management pumping solution, which is focused on cutting costs and limit the water losses in a 24X7 water distribution system by effective pressure control.
Speaking at the session on ‘Innovative ways of managing water resources’, Sanjeev Sirsi, Head - Business Development Water Utilities, Grundfos India said, “India needs to address its water security issues at every level from policy, adoption of intelligent systems & solutions to implementation. There is also critical need to create maximum awareness on using water sensibly, encourage conservation, recycling, and reuse of water. Grundfos along with other private companies, the Government and all relevant stakeholders need to take an active part in the dialog on how to address these challenges upfront”.
In addition to developing water and energy-efficient solutions, Grundfos also aims at reducing its own total water consumption by 50 percent compared to 2008 levels.
