Innovation award for the second time in a year

Grundfos India has won the Innovation award for Grundfos direct sensors at an Energy summit 2011 conducted by Confederation of Indian Industries on August 25, 2011.

8 nominations were short-listed out of 48 enrolled. This is the second such award being bagged by Grundfos direct sensors after ACREX 2011, organised by Indian Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ISHRAE), under the same category.

Award was presented by Dr Ajay Mathur, Director-General, Bureau of Energy Efficiency and Mr. Naushad Marshall, Head of Forbes Marshall to the Sensor team members of GIN. A trophy and a certificate was presented by the organizers.

204 energy-intensive industries sent their nominations and a panel of judges short-listed 41 companies. These companies were asked to display and present their products at a concurrent expo which was well attended by visitors from various industries.

Grundfos bags Innovation award in ACREX 2011

ACREX 2011 is an iconic event for Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Engineers in India for over decades. This year the steering Committee of ACREX India 2011, invited the exhibitors to participate in ‘ACREX Award of Excellence’. Grundfos India bagged the award under Innovation category by presenting its trend setting Grundfos Direct Sensor™ for the first time,

Grundfos Pumps India Pvt Ltd. was awarded the trophy by Head of the judging committee: Dr Prem C Jain, Chairman & MD of Spectral Services Consultants, one of India’s largest consultant engineering companies. The judging committee felt that the silicon coated sensor shows how new innovative technology can be cost effectively integrated into HVAC systems.

Srinivasa Rajkumar, Manager- Technical Support, Grundfos India explained how the flow sensor has been developed to monitor & control the low flow rates used in Solar Thermal heating / cooling systems. Dr Jain responded “The potential throughout India for large Solar Thermal schemes is increasing and these sensors will be vital for this industry.”

Bryan Maddock, National Sales Manager, Grundfos Direct Sensors, commented “Winning this award is confirmation of all the hard work of a dedicated team of development & production engineers.
