Denmark. Grundfos is a global leader in advanced pump solutions and a trendsetter in water technology. Grundfos is also one of the world’s leading pump manufacturers with an annual production of more than 16 million pump units. The company’s main products include circulator pumps for heating and air-conditioning as well as other centrifugal pumps for the industry, water supply, sewage and dosing. Grundfos India started its Indian operations in the year 1998.

Presence & Reach
Grundfos India’s headquarters is located in Chennai and has 14 branch / home offices. It has an extensive network across the country with more than 200 distributors, Point of Sale outlets and authorized service centres. The company has two production facilities, one adjoined to its corporate office in Chennai and another in the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) on the East Coast Road, Tamil Nadu. Grundfos India is also responsible for the business in Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives and Nepal.

Grundfos India is working towards helping Indian industries and corporates save both energy and water not only through it’s highly energy efficient products but also through the energy and water audits it conducts. These audits are a complete system analysis of the energy and water consumption. Post the analysis the energy audit team recommends the best solutions to right size the systems; thereby helping conserve both these resources.
The company also contributes towards energy and water conservation by reducing its own impact on the environment. Its headquarters in Chennai is India’s first gold-rated green building (LEED certification by USGBC in 2005) and is energy efficient with 100% recycling of the sewage, rain water harvesting and with solar collectors and photovoltaics. Grundfos India’s factory also received the gold certification in 2011 from the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC). In August 2013, the Grundfos office building was elevated to a LEED EB Platinum certification.
Grundfos India has launched a forum through the social media site, Facebook called ‘Ek Boondh Pani’. The name translates to ‘a drop of water' in Hindi – signifying the importance of each drop of water. Through this page, members share water conservation tips and facts to encourage this awareness to be driven home.
Grundfos India is also working with students from elementary schools to universities to spread awareness on sustainability (energy and water conservation). The company encourages school visits to its facility to showcase the Green Building concept. Grundfos India has been successful in reaching out to 503,000 students since 2010. Through these students the company is influencing their family, friends and communities to conserve water.
Corporate Social Responsibility at Grundfos India
Grundfos India’s CSR initiatives focus on sustainability, energy & water conservation, health & hygiene, education and livelihood. The company’s employees are also involved closely with some of these initiatives and volunteer their time and expertise to help the local communities.
In December 2014, The Grundfos Foundation, Grundfos India and Sunlit Future launched an ambitious project to bring clean water to 100 villages in rural India. The
first phase of the project will deliver water to 12,400 people in 28 villages in Orissa, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh.
