Grundfos India supports dewatering efforts in Chennai
Chennai, December 11, 2015: Grundfos India has been working closely with the Chennai City Corporations and corporations to dewater the flooded areas in the city. The water inundated at Olympia Tech Park, Villivakkam, Ambattur, Mogappair, Semmancheri, Sholinganallur, were pumped out by providing Grundfos’ mobile pumping station (MPS 101) specifically designed for floods. The pumps are now stationed at DLF Tech Park to remove water from their campus. The pump helped in reducing the water that was logged up to waist deep in few of these areas and up to 8 ft feet at Olympia Tech Park. Grundfos India’s mobile pumping stations worked effectively in dewatering these flooded areas.
These mobile pumping units are dewatering pumps which can discharge around two lakh LPH. Grundfos India has two of these pumps that discharge a total amount of 4 lakh LPH. The advantage of using this pump is that it can run on both diesel and electric power as it has a capacity of 63kVa Genset. Also this entire unit can be towed to any place and the pumps can be positioned at any level with the help of an inbuilt crane.
Commenting on these efforts of Grundfos India, Balaji Seshadri, Head – Service & Engineering (Mechanical & Tech support) said “These pumps and systems can play a critical role in ensuring that areas or even corporate campuses do not flood. The process is simple and mobile that can be used to dewater flooded areas easily and quickly”.
