SPLASH photography contest: Results announced
Chennai, India, November 20, 2013: The result of the SPLASH photography contest hosted by Ek Boondh Pani – a Facebook forum was announced recently. The objective of the contest was to showcase the integral role that water plays in our lives and why water conservation is so critical. The photographs had to express a happy experience involving water.
Ek Boondh Pani is a forum hosted by Grundfos Pumps India Pvt. Ltd. (Grundfos India) on the social media site, Facebook. The name translates to ‘a drop of water' in Hindi – signifying the importance of each drop of water. The response to the contest was overwhelming with more than 350 entries coming in. Out of these entries, 10 pictures were put to a public vote and shortlisted. The 10 shortlisted photographs were then judged by a panel of Grundfos leaders. The key criteria for judging were relevance to theme, creativity, visual appeal and number of Likes the photograph had received. The month-long contest helped catapult the ‘Likes’ on the page to more than 91,000!
An iPAD Mini was awarded to Anup J Kattukaran – the winner of the contest. And the four runner-up winners- Saravana Kumar, Bala Chandar K, Vinod Munna and Ganesh Yoganathan received a Nikon Coolpix camera each.
