Grundfos India sponsors ‘Pump & Plumbing Program’ in association with Rotary Club of Madras East
Chennai, February 23, 2018: Grundfos India, one of the leading manufacturers of intelligent and energy efficient pumps, has launched a ‘Pump & Plumbing Program’ at the Vocational Training Center in Thoraipakkam, in association with Rotary Club of Madras East (RCME). Thiru K. Pandiarajan, Hon’ble Minister for Tamil Official Language, Tamil Culture and Archaeology, Government of Tamil Nadu, was the guest of honor at the inauguration. The main objective of running this program is to increase the number of qualified plumbers in India as well as to improve skill development among young adults.
The Pump & Plumbing Program is a 90-day certified program, where the student will be taught about various pump and plumbing related topics including pump installations and repair, maintenance and service of plumbing systems. The curriculum for the Pump Repair and Maintenance program will be in line with the NSDC (National Skill Development Council) curriculum. The modules of this course include both theoretical and practical sessions at the vocational training center as well as in Grundfos India’s production facility. The student will also get opportunities to improve his/her soft skills such as life coping skills, inter personal skills, communication skills, work-related and health & fitness skills. Each class will have 20 students and the center plans to train 100 students each year.
Another key aspect that this center plans to focus on is to trainwomen in this Pump & Plumbing Program.

Admissions to the Pump & Plumbing Program will start by March 2018.
