Grundfos India Recognised for its Excellence in Sustainability at the Manufacturing Today Awards 2013
Pune, India, September 30, 2013: Grundfos Pumps India Pvt. Ltd received the Manufacturing Today 2013 runner-up winner award for its Excellence in Sustainability (Small Enterprises category). Manufacturing Today hosted an award ceremony where it honoured and recognised the success achieved by various corporates in a wide range of areas such as sustainability, operations, innovation, safety and Corporate Social Responsibility.
Grundfos India won this recognition based on some of its key sustainability efforts such as:
Yearly sustainability targets for parameters like water consumption, energy consumption, waste generation, recycling of water, etc.
Focus on innovation that helps the company develop and produce high efficiency pumps and motor technology that can reduce the average pump's energy consumption by up to 60%
Commitment towards the development of pumps that can operate on renewable energy supply
Efforts towards helping Indian industries and corporates save both energy and water through the energy and water audits it conducts
A forum on the social media site, Facebook called ‘Ek Boondh Pani’. Through this page the company shares water conservation tips and facts and engages with its members to encourage this awareness to be driven home
Various initiatives that reach out to students from elementary schools to universities to spread awareness on sustainability (energy and water conservation)
Employees involvement in its sustainability efforts
Being one of the first companies in India to go in for voluntary recertification of its existing building and the first company in India to move from a Gold to a Platinum LEED certification for a building even after eight years
